What Is CBG?
CBG stands for cannabigerol, a minor cannabinoid found in most strands of cannabis. Because of its medical potency, it is considered a desirable compound when farming cannabis. CBG is a product of the earlier stages of hemp-flowering.
CBG is non-intoxicating and can be known to counteract the effects of THC. It binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors, known for assisting the body’s endocannabinoid system. This helps your body regulate appetite, sleep, pain, pleasure, and even motivation.
As the “parent molecule” to both CBD and THC, you can imagine how many benefits can be found in CBG. Products with higher levels of CBG haven been proven effective in treating anxiety, insomnia, inflammation, and chronic pain. It is one of the many chemicals found in hemp plants and is just another reason for the current hemp-craze.
One of Cativa’s latest products is our CBD+CBG Roll-on Oil. CBG can also be effective at relieving skin issues when applied topically.
With so many terms and compounds, and cannabinoids to research and be familiar with when familiarizing yourself with the world of hemp, you can be sure that Cativa’s scientists are on the cutting edge of it all.
