Meet Cativa CBD Player Brian Gay

2020 has been a very good year for Cativa CBD PGA professional Brian Gay. “He came from nowhere,” proclaims golfdigest.com, when he shot a seven-under-par 64 on November 1st to win the Bermuda Championship. At 48 years old, it is Gay’s first win in over seven years, proving that it is definitely too soon to count him out.

In the news conference after the win, Gay noted that he had suffered a slump since quarantine began, struggling when the PGA Tour kicked off in June. “I’ve struggled the last few months and been quite miserable on the course at times. Everyone around me kept saying “You’re gonna win,” my wife kept telling me I’m gonna win, you’re gonna do it . . . it’s a crazy game, you never know what’s going to happen.”

Gay jokes that he competes against players his daughters’ age (which is true!), but time and experience were both on his side on the PGA Tour. The Fort Worth, Texas native has been playing golf for over 20 years and more than 600 times on the Tour alone. The Bermuda Championship win marks his fifth career PGA title. It also brings him from a 318th Official World Golf Ranking to 181st.
