Cativa CBD in the Community
The Cativa CBD brand is SO much more than our products. Long before we brought anything to market, it was imperative that we found lots of ways to give back and support our communities. These days, as luck would have it, we are able to work directly with some fantastic foundations and organizations making a difference. We invite you to explore the groups linked below and come volunteer at our side. We are looking forward to seeing you at the next event!
Cativa CBD and the Begin Again Foundation
The Begin Again Foundation was created by pro golfer Marc Leishman and his wife, Audrey. Audrey suffered a near-death experience in 2015. Her bout with sepsis, Toxic Shock Syndrome, and Acute Respiratory Syndrome inspired the Foundation. In the Leishman’s home of Virginia Beach, families with uninsured expenses, including the homeless, are taken care of via the Foundation’s generosity. To date more than 2,000 families have received assistance. Survivors of these ailments nationwide also receive $1,000 grants to assist with their many expenses (both medical and non-medical).
From the beginning, Cativa CBD has worked closely with the Leishman family and helped to raise funds for Foundation beneficiaries. In September we were happy to join in sponsoring the 2020 Celebrity Classic, a star-studded golf tournament with global reach. And earlier this month we were thrilled to announce a $75,000 donation to the Begin Again Foundation in support of their many initiatives to help the less fortunate.
More 2020 Community Events
Our mandate to give back takes us all over the Eastern Seaboard and beyond. Here is a sampling of some other events Cativa CBD has sponsored or taken part in recently:
Portsmouth Taste of the Town: This inaugural event highlighted local and farm-to-table dining in Portsmouth, Virginia. Guests sampled fine dining and craft cocktails by the water while helping to highlight stars of the struggling restaurant industry.
Golf Business RevCon 2020: The first-ever Charleston RevCon brought the experts together to boost golf and golf-adjacent business ventures with educational seminars and networking sessions.
Wounded Warriors Golf Tournament: The 2020 Golf Outing at Bide-A-Wee featured a silent auction and plenty of action on the green to raise money for an important cause.
FestEvents (Pete G Decker) Golf Tournament: Guests at the FestEvents Golf Tournament will get to hit the links while “tasting their way across the bay,” enjoying wine, beer, and haute cuisine bites.
The Power of Women Event: Top female business professionals gathered to discuss women’s empowerment and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in the Chesapeake/Hampton/Virginia Beach communities.
There is much more to come for the Cativa CBD family, both throughout the remainder of this year and into 2021. For example, CEO and Co-Founder of Cativa CBD, Johnny Garcia will continue in his role as President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for Coastal Virginia. “We are truly the lucky ones,” notes Luisa Escobar Worrell, COO of Cativa CBD. “The ability to partner with these fine organizations allows us not only to give back but also to grow as a company. Our mandate for charitable giving remains steadfast and we invite other local businesses to do the same.”
